Today we’d like to introduce you to Djamel, our full-time technician at the Centre Pompidou as part of the signage contract we won last year. His job? To install (or prepare for installation) and maintain all the signage equipment and systems, except for exhibitions.
This ranges from the large kakemonos in the hall to the signs directing the public, not forgetting the posters and evacuation plans. Every day, he deals with multiple requests and makes his own inspection tour of the building’s 6 floors and basements, looking for the slightest adhesive door strip that needs replacing, or the Led signage lighting that needs changing.
“On Tuesdays, when the museum is closed, I’m allowed to see the exhibitions. It’s great to have the museum all to yourself – or almost all to yourself – and admire the works. My latest favourite? The Gainsbourg exhibition”.
