Eataly store front sign – integration by Oxy

After Rome, Milan, São Paulo and Los Angeles, last April the Italian haute cuisine brand opened in Paris, at the heart of the Marais district.

The story dates back to February when Oxy was chosen by Eataly (franchise acquired by the Galeries Lafayette group) to create its store front sign in a highly sensitive area.

To perfectly integrate the sign, we created the illusion that it was literally coming out of the cornices of the Haussmann building. This was a sizeable technical challenge as these cornices were made by stonecutters at the time and present significant irregularities and deformations.

Oxy used the latest 3D software from the aeronautical sector to develop models of the façade down to the nearest millimetre. The stainless steel and PMMA letters were meticulously made and assembled by hand. The low-power LED lighting is linked to ambient lighting levels, which proved the most effective way of ensuring good visibility of the sign without causing light pollution.

To meet all these requirements for creation of the Eataly sign, Oxy needed resources from many fields. Today it plays the role of a genuine specialist, drawing on its experience in the industrial and communication sectors, and its investments in new technologies, to manage complex creations in house.
