Bollywood in Paris with Oxysign

After a 5-month presentation at the Louvre Abu Dhabi earlier this year, our client the musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac welcomes Bollywood superstars

This is one of the most eagerly awaited exhibitions of 2023 in the French capital.Works of art, historical objects and large-screen projections are brought together in an immersive scenography to retrace a century of the history of Indian cinema.

Once again, Oxysign was entrusted with the manufacture and installation of the event window displays that adorn the museum’s 200-metre palisade-window.

The challenge? To recreate all the intensity of the frescoes created by the LMpolymago agency, which are as expressive and colourful as the Bollywood aesthetic, without losing the transparency of the glazing that allows the visuals to be seen from either side of the palisade

So we made ourselves a whole film, specifically optically transparent 3M™ Scotchcal™ 8150 Vinyl, in five passes of recto/verso printing (four-colour process, then backing white, blocking black, white again and four-colour process again) and without lamination.

A must-see to relive the rich hours of the world’s most prolific film industry (2,000 films a year!), understand its mythological, artistic and political sources, and of course the incredible contemporary cult devoted to Bollywood actors and actresses.
